The objective of TAS is to promote and sustain greater utilization and acceptance of palm oil and products in both edible and inedible applications by providing technical services and undertaking technical promotion activities; to strengthen and consolidate palm oil consumption through the publication and dissemination of technical, commercial and general information to importers and users of palm oil; To promote and persuade improvement in policies and regulatory instruments related to trade, transportation, distribution, application and consumption of Malaysian palm oil at both national and international levels and; to improve processing and exporting capabilities of the Malaysian palm oil industry
The Technical Advisory Services (TAS) of MPOB was established in early 1980s to provide technical advisory services
to palm oil users overseas for the development of new markets and expand existing markets for palm oil and palm oil
products. TAS is also entrusted to overcome major technical issues related to nutritional, food and non-food applications,
environment and other governmental regulations within the regions to safeguard the interest of the Malaysian palm oil
markets overseas. The regional offices are managed by a Regional Manager who are technically competent to handle
the technical and regulatory issues within the region.
